THE BRIEF
Create a custom-made, dual purpose, packaging box to be suitable for online selling (e-commerce box) and for on-shelf packaging, in garden nursery retail stores.
The client requested eco-friendly materials, to be recyclable and compostable.
We worked closely with the packaging manufacturer to create a custom-made box to allow for four units to fit snuggly into one carton.
To further increase the 'eco-friendly' aspect of the design, we used a minimal ink, with only 2 spot colours and allowing the natural kraft card main colouring.
LOGO UPDATE
Catscat® has been around since 1993, and had many other garden product manufacturers copy the design. However, Catscat® is the original, patented product.
The logo update design brief was to include a stamp icon to state that it is the original product, and include the age of the product as well.
Originally, the logo was made only of the green arrow and font. To avoid having three different separate elements, we combined all into one logo, and induced the product descriptive: 'Animal Deterrent' as well.
DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION REDRAW
The original illustrations were lost.
We had to redrawn them into a digital vector format. This allows for quality in the printing process by keeping a sharp edge to the drawings.
Often original art drawings or photos will blur and pixelates when enlarged for print purposes.
